A hard bounce is a permanent delivery failure: the address does not exist, the domain is not found, or the server rejected the message for good. These addresses must be suppressed immediately and never mailed again.
A high hard-bounce rate sharply damages sender reputation and raises the risk of blocking. Prevent them by validating addresses before sending and by confirming subscriptions with double opt-in.
